Consumer Oriented Questions

How much does it cost to become
a member?

Membership is free. It takes less than five minutes to sign up and you can do it over the Internet.

Will it work with my mobile phone?
iBreva works with most phones and carrier networks (including Sprint, ATT/Cingular, Verizon, and T-mobile). As part of the provisioning process, we
will send an iBreva “minipass” to your phone. If this is successful, you can be sure that you are provisioned and you can start using your phone for payment.

Will payment come out of my checking account?
When you sign up, you tell us the account that you want payments taken from. Any charges you make using iBreva will show up as debits on
this account.

What happens if I’m not in coverage when I want to make a payment?
Your phone does not need to be in coverage when you make payments.
It only needs to be on with the minipass being on the display.

How secure is iBreva?
As secure as using your existing debit or ATM card. Both require possession and a PIN to make payment. However you are more likely to notice if your phone is missing than a card. In either case you are not responsible for
un-authorized payments.

How do I sign up?
The easiest way is to follow the instructions on our website. It should take less than five minutes.

What do I need to sign up?
Details are on the web site, but basically you need a check from the account you want the money to be taken from, your drivers license and information about your phone.

What do I do if I lose my phone?
Contact iBreva customer service, and we will put a hold on your account.

What do I do if I change my phone number or carrier?
Contact iBreva customer service, and
we can change your account to your
new phone and provision it over the air.

Merchant Oriented Questions

How much does iBreva charge to process payments?
It varies depending on your volume
and other factors, but in general, iBreva’s fee should be about half what you now pay in interchange, and there is no additional per transaction processor fee.

Can the iBreva system be
integrated in with my existing payment system?

Yes it can. In the general case it requires the addition of a sensor in each check out lane and a modification to the software. It may also require adding an internet connection to the store if one doesn’t currently exist.

Can it be integrated with my
loyalty program?

Yes it can, and it has a number of advantages as the method for implementing a loyalty program.
First and foremost, customers are more likely to have their cell phone than any other ID, so you should get more participation which means better understanding of your customers. People are also less likely to give their phone to someone else to use, which increases the quality of the data. And when loyalty is tied to payment, it is a faster and more convenient experience for your customers.

What hardware do I need to
buy and install?

The iBreva system can be implemented either as a stand alone system or integrated with your existing payment system. In the stand alone configuration, an iBreva terminal must be installed in each check out lane. In the integrate configuration, an iBreva sensor must be added to the existing hardware.

Do I need to change processors?
No. The iBreva system works independently of your existing processor, so you don’t need to make any changes in the way you currently accept cash, checks, credit or debit cards. However for payments made using the iBreva system, you will save money relative to these existing options.

Do I need to change banks?
No. iBreva is able to work with virtually any existing merchant account.
